The recently created Centro de Interpretação do Geoparque Oeste (CIGO) aims to be the main gateway to the Geoparque Oeste. This museum space, located in Bombarral, offers visitors a journey through 250 million years, highlighting the birth of the Atlantic Ocean. It also focuses on dinosaurs and their trails, the appearance of man and great civilizations, until reaching the Portuguese conquests and the customs and traditions that shape the people of the territory.
Being the municipality of Torres Vedras, one of the municipalities that make up the Aspiring Geoparque do Oeste, and endowed with a high paleodiversity, SHN lent its exhibition entitled “25 years, 25 fossils” (previously located at the Arena Shopping de Torres Vedras) to be displayed on CIGO.
The inauguration is on October 6th (2:30 pm) - International Geodiversity Day! The exhibition will be on display at CIGO until March 22, 2024.
